How To Make Cannabutter Easily

Don’t let making edibles scare you. The hardest part is making cannabutter or canna oil. Here is an easy and simple recipe for marijuana butter that you can make at home on your stove top in about an hour. Once you have the butter made making edibles is as simple as adding cannabutter as a substitute for regular butter.

The only thing you need to be careful with is the strength of the marijuana butter your using so you achieve the desired result and don’t over do it with the amount of THC contained in each edible. This is where having edibles from dispensaries makes for easy use since dosages are carefully measured and disclosed on their edibles.

To increase the dosage of the cannabutter simply adjust the amount of marijuana you add to the mixture.

This butter once ready can easily be drizzled on anything once its done or used in recipes.

*You can also use a machine like magical butter machine or a Levo Oil Infuser and make the process even easier!

Total Time 1 hour 10 minutes
Course Infused Butter
Servings 1 Cup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1/4 ounce cannabis buds finely ground

Instructions

  • Melt the butter on low heat in a saucepan. Add the ground marijuana, and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Strain the butter into a glass dish with a tight-fitting lid. Push the back of a spoon against the plant matter and smash it against the strainer to squeeze out every drop of butter available. When you’re done, discard the plant matter.
  • You can then use your cannabutter immediatley or store it in the refrigerator for later use. Butter generally remains potent for about 2 weeks in the fridge and if properly stored in the freezer it can stay good for much longer. Potency will not fade but butter does go rancid eventually.

Notes

If you want to make more then a 1/2 cup at a time you can easily scale this recipe by using 4 sticks of butter and 1 oz of marijuana. You will also need to increase the simmer time to up to 1hr.
